Wedding Movies & DVDs;

"27 Dresses"

Over-the-top bridesmaid dresses are featured in this film. Brides can watch this with their bridal party and remind them how kind they were when picking their dresses. Or maybe brides can use the dress-up scene for some bridesmaid dress inspiration?

Disney's "Aladdin" or "Little Mermaid"

Good to have on for the wedding day preparations if you have your flower girls getting ready too.

"Arthur"

Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli star in this romantic comedy that shows money can't buy you love. The song, "Arthur's Theme" is also a great love song to have played during your wedding reception.

"Betsy's Wedding"

Starring Alan Alda and Molly Ringwald. The classic is a good movie to watch the night before the wedding if you are staying over at your parent's house. The story focuses on a father letting his daughter grow up and become a married woman.

"Evening"

"Everafter"

Cinderella-esque fairytale classic starring Drew Barrymore. "Just breathe" is a good line to remember just before walking down the aisle on your wedding.

"Father of the Bride"

Watch either the brilliant classic starring Spencer Tracy, or the remake starring Steve Martin and Dianne Keaton. The classic is a good movie to watch the night before the wedding if you are staying over at your parent's house. The story focuses on a father letting his daughter grow up and become a married woman. The remake stars Martin Short as a very entertaining wedding planner.

"Four Weddings and a Funeral"

A bit of an anti-wedding film that features a lot of weddings, a lot of hats and a lot of laughs. If you are planning an outdoor wedding, a wedding in a castle or a traditional sit-down wedding you might find a few ideas from the many wedding settings featured in this movie.

"The Graduate"

For those brides that don't want anything too sappy the night before their wedding.

"The Hangover"

Good for the men to watch and laugh along with before the big day. A good example of why buck's events are held at least a week before the wedding.

"Honeymoon in Vegas"

Nicholas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker star in this romantic comedy about the misadventures that can occur if you put off your wedding in Vegas.

"In and Out"

This is a really light-hearted film that is a good watch if you've got a range of ages staying over the night before the wedding. Kevin Klein is very entertaining

"It Had to Be You" 1947

"Maid of Honor"

And men, watch out if your bride's maid of honor is a man!

"Mamma Mia!"

A movie you and your bridesmaids can sing and dance along to as you do your nails and have your hair styled.

"Muriel's Wedding"

A good Australian romantic comedy about friendship, discovering yourself, and falling in love.

"My Best Friend's Wedding"

Keep on your toes if your groom's best man is a woman!

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

A warm-hearted film about getting to know your family-in-law and their traditions.

"The Notebook"

Remember the tissues! A story about love over the years. And a reminder to marry the one you love, not the one your family or friends love.

"Oklahoma"

Sing along romantic movie.

"That Old Feeling"

A good romantic movie about new love and rekindled love. Starring Bette Midler.

"The Philadelphia Story"

Stellar cast, witty script and beautiful setting. Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart.

"Pride and Prejudice" BBC mini series

Not completely a "wedding" movie per se, however it all about love and desire.

"The Princess Bride"

"As you wish..." The quest for his one true love. A romantic comedy starring Robyn Wright-Penn, Andre the Giant and Billy Crystal. A true romantic classic.

"Romeo and Juliet"

A rose by any other name...

"Sex and the City The Movie"

Not the most wonderful movie to follow up a brilliant series, but the over-the-top wedding dress scene is entertaining. The final wedding scene is romantic and feel-good. A movie to watch during your wedding planning time to remember to keep the wedding simple, or to your own style, to ensure it is a happy day for the bride and groom.

"Steal Magnolias"

Remember your tissues for this funny, tearjerker movie.

"The Wedding Crashers"

Funny film starring Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell.

"The Wedding Singer"

Funny film where love does prevail. Adam Sandler's song, "I want to grow old with you" will strike a chord with all brides-to-be.

"The Wedding Planner"

This may sway you away from hiring a pretty and single wedding planner for your big day.
