Outdoor Wedding at Mosman Beach

Mosman Beach Wedding

Ideas and tips on holding your wedding ceremony and or reception outdoors.

Have a plan B in case of wet weather. Be it a marquee, or a venue around the corner, or your parent's house. Weather forecasts are your best friend in the days leading up to the event. Some invitations include a plan b venue and a phone number to call if guests are concerned about the plans. Provide a parent's number, or an ushers number on the invite so people can call.

Don't get too caught up with weather forecasts though. Many people have been to weddings where it has been grey and wet all day up until five minutes before guests start arriving. Suddenly the clouds part, the rain disappears and you marry with a rainbow behind you and glorious blue skies. Alternatively, there have been 35 degree days that cool within seconds of the bride leaving the hotel on her way to the venue and it is a more comfortable 25 degrees for the rest of the night.

Listen to people's concerns, but don't let them talk you out of an outdoor wedding due to fear of what could be alone. If you love a certain place and want to say "I do" there, then stay firm (and think many positive thoughts). Ask if your reception venue offer an undercover wedding space, just in case all goes bad and there is a thunderstorm ten minutes before your ceremony.
