The feast before the fast. Signifying the start of Lent. The day before Ash Wednesday.
Also known as: Pancake day, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras. Today people enjoy pancakes for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner as part of Shrove Tuesday. In some areas the day is now only known as Pancake Day.
