Colour Theme
Perhaps the mum-to-be has decorated the nursery in a colour theme. Include this as the theme for the baby shower and then all gifts will match the theme the parents love.
Theme the invitations, envelopes, thank you cards, balloons, tablecloths, napkins, food decorations, and bunting with the colour or colours.

- Instead of using a plastic tablecloth in the colour theme, purchase some fabric in the right colours and then give this to the mum-to-be to use in her nursery, or to make clothes.
- Make bunting in same fabric that was purchased to decorate the tables.
- Decorate cupcakes in the colours.
- Place lollies in the themed colours in bowls around the room. Lollies that work well in colour themes include Smarties and M&Ms; jelly beans; Jaffas, raspberries and strawberry and creams for red theme; bananas for yellow theme; jubes; Musk sticks, marshmallows, musk lollies for pink theme; spearmint leaves for green.
