• Jelly babies . You can use any lolly (especially if the mum-to-be has a favourite), however jelly babies stick with the baby-related theme of the day. Remember to count the number of jelly babies that go in the bottle before the guests arrive and keep the number in a safe and secret place. This is a good one for the mum-to-be to play as well younger guests.
• Baby bottle. Buy a bottle that the baby will use in the first year.

How to play?

• Before the party fill a baby bottle with jelly babies. Count the number of jelly babies as you go and keep that number secret from the guests.
• Pass the bottle around and have each guest write down their guess on either their own answer sheet, or on a combined guess sheet.
• After everyone has seen the baby bottle and made a guess either collect the guess sheets and find the closest guess, or ask people to call out their guesses to find the closest.
• You can play higher and lower until the closest guess is claimed.
• More than one winner? If there are two or more guests who have guessed the same number, or are both closest to the actual number, you can either award them each a prize, or you can get the winners to play heads and tails to work out a single winner.
