| Christmas in July | 30/06/2010 12:00 am | winter, Christmas |
As Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere is usually warm to very hot many enjoy celebrating a Turkey feast in the middle of winter. The snowfields of Australia has embraced this celebration and host events through July to help people celebrate a white Christmas. The date to celebrate Christmas in July is not a specfic day each year. It is usually held late July to fall mid-winter, during the coldest period of winter. For the meals you can buy a lot of winter Christmas meal condiments at IKEA's food store (with a $1 hot dog and a cheap softserve icecream cone) and Aldi. Popular dishes include roast turkey and cranberry sauce with all the roasted vegetable trimmings. Add some gluehwine (Aldi has it for sale at the moment ready to serve). If you want to make gluehwine/mulled wine yourself a simple gluehwine recipe can be found here .
